OK, you asked about the secret of life and here it is

Know when to walk away
And know when to run"

Thoughtful words from Tom Woods (1 minute read may save you a bundle on wasting tuition at a twit school))
OK, at this point my newsletter is getting too easy to write.
Now it's Texas Christian University that's gone insane.
The other day, comedian and podcaster Steven Crowder showed up on the TCU campus, put up a sign reading "'RAPE CULTURE' IS A MYTH: CHANGE MY MIND," and sat down to talk to passersby.
The TCU administration went berserk.
Now look: Crowder is obviously correct that "rape culture" is a myth.
"Rape culture," says Wikipedia, "is a sociological concept for a setting in which rape is pervasive and normalized due to societal attitudes about gender and sexuality."
To believe in "rape culture" is to believe that our society considers rape "normal."
I'm pretty sure most people would consider that claim insane.
As it turns out, it was people on the left -- the very people who would complain about "rape culture" today -- who abolished capital punishment for rapists of adult women in 1977, and for rapists of children in 2008.
So in other words, it was the toughest defenders of "the patriarchy" who wanted to keep rape a capital crime, and it was the left who wanted to soften the punishment.
Go make sense of that.
Here's how the university responded to Crowder's skepticism of the bizarre "rape culture" idea, which evidently is now to be believed by everyone:
"Today, Steven Crowder chose to challenge our students on a public sidewalk in front of the university. While the Constitution gives him the right to express his views, the sentiments he expressed do not align with TCU's values. His views adversely affected many members of our campus community. The health and safety of the Horned Frog Family is of utmost importance and we encourage individuals to contact campus resources for support."
Evidently one of TCU's values is: "All right-thinking people should agree that rape is considered normal in American society."
TCU Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Kathy Cavins-Tull added in a campus-wide email:
"For some of the members of our community, it was a day of pain and anguish. For others, a day of disappointment that the university failed to remove the source of their pain from the public sidewalk. I want to acknowledge the pain that I saw yesterday and the disappointment that I heard."
A "day of pain and anguish" because someone denied that we live in arape culture.
So now we're in a position where even contesting the preposterous idea of "rape culture" is enough to get you denounced at a university.
I've discussed rape culture with Wendy McElroy on the Tom Woods Show, and let's just say she doesn't hold the TCU position:

Q&A to Mr. Armstrong: you may want to plan accordingly
I was watching the proceedings and to me the circus on Capitol Hill only made sense to those who are too deep into American politics to see the big picture.
I'm not from the USA, luckily.
From the outside, it looks like infighting. What it looks like is the seat of the Empire is filled with corrupt bureaucrats fighting for dominance. By the time one faction wins, the Empire's foundation is so undermined it only takes a breeze to bring the entire house of cards crashing down.
Isn't this what truly happened in the days of Rome? Was it the Barbarians, or was it the internal struggles between the established factions within Rome that undermined it to the point where the whole thing became vulnerable to an outside force?
In the end, the Empire was divided, and only the East carried on the legacy. The West sank into a thousand year long Dark Age.
Would you say we're at a similar time? Some of us are wondering if there is a fix to this… If things will ever go back to normal…
Thanks!
REPLY: Yes a lot of emails have been pouring in from overseas since the appointment of a judge has captured the attention of the entire world. A friend from Canada could not believe how it is dominating even their TV.
I fully respect if these women were really sexually assaulted. The problem is bringing something up 36 years later when memories are distorted. This has turned into a Circus and it reflects how anything goes today. It is really sad because it exposes how deep the hatred goes. You are correct, we have crossed the Rubicon. There is no putting this back together. The November elections will NEVER be accepted by either side. This is the Array on the Democrats. We are plagued by Directional Changes and Panic Cycles showing up in 2029 and 2021. This is all coming to a MAJOR head by 2020.
I sincerely fear that Trump will be the very last democratically elected president. They will from here on out alter the actual voting counts to support their desired outcome. This is game over! Turn out the lights! As they said of Rome: they were still laughing when the lights went out.
